Hernando the Grape Vine

It is with much excitement I introduce you to “Hernando” the grape vine. A one hundred year old vine from the South Australian Barossa Valley. Late last year, in the Australian summer, me and my friend Ilianthe of yarn-bombing.com drove out to McLaren Vale to Oliver’s Taranga Winery where we met with the lovely Hernando. We spent the afternoon covering Hernando with lots of lovely yarn and glammed him up to appear on the label of a wine appropriately named ‘Yarnbomb’. This wine has just been released here in Australia and I can’t wait to try it.

Here is the promotional video made by the winery to talk about the wine and it features (very quickly) me and Ilianthe in action along with the wine maker Corrina Wright covering Hernando.

I’m so excited about this!!
